A season of hope for the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad starts tonight as the Sabers will take on Wayne. Twin Cedars has high hopes for a breakout season coming off a 5-16 year last year. Sophomore Holden Roberts is going to be the go to guy as he returns as a leading scorer from last season. The Sabers have a tough non-conference schedule with Wayne and later in the year Saydel and Colfax-Mingo among others. Coach Mateo Varese tells KNIA/KRLS Sports playing up to competition level will help his team.

Varese: “It’s going to help a lot with those out of conference games. That Moulton game is just out there, depending on how we do in the conference tournament if we need a 22nd game.”

The Sabers have a tough start to the season with Wayne tonight and one of the Bluegrass Conference favorites Ankeny Christian on Friday.
