The Indianola School Board met in regular session Tuesday evening, where Superintendent Ted Ihns announced his intention to retire, effective June 30th, 2024.

The board swore in returning members Rob Keller, Ben Metzger, and Sue Wilson, in addition to new member Eric Christensen, who all won in the November 7th election, electing Mack Rankin and Board President and Ben Metzger as Vice President. The board also set meetings to switch back to Monday evenings rather than Tuesday at 5:30pm.

The board approved the 2023-24 early retirement plan offering, approximately $10 million in general obligation bonds, and the purchase of a property at 1200 E Ashland for $198,400, reviewed building enrollments, and received reports from the curriculum, human resources, and policy committees, before going into closed session to discuss real estate.
