Indianola Superintendent Ted Ihns announced his retirement, effective June 3rd of 2024. Ihns tells KNIA News the decision was tough to make, but after his wife got a new job, it was his time to be supportive.

“It’s a situation that my wife has taken a position out of state. I let President Keller know about three weeks ago that that would be my intention, and I just wanted the board to be aware and get an early jump start on finding my replacement so that’s why I did it last night. It was the first time the full board had been together since I talked with former Board President Keller. It’s time for me to follow her, she’s followed me for 30 years so it’s time for me to move on with her.”
