The Pleasantville boys wrestling team opens their season tonight as they compete in a quadrangular at Martensdale-St. Marys.

Along with the Trojans and Blue Devils, the quad will also feature Moravia and Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas. Pleasantville is coming off a 21-5 season last year, where they qualified for the regional duals. The Trojans will bring back two individual state qualifiers from last season in Caleb Cook and Tommy Booth. Pleasantville wrestling coach Heath DeForest says that he is excited about the talent that is on the team this year.

“I think this is going to be one of the most fun teams we’ve had since I’ve been here. We’ve had a lot of good individuals come through here and some decent teams don’t get me wrong but this might be our most complete team since I’ve been here. I’m hoping that we can all separate of course. I think Pleasantville wrestling is on the rise and just Trojan athletics are on the rise.”

Tonight’s quad for the Pleasantville wrestling team at Martensdale St. Mary’s starts at 5:30 pm.
