Southeast Warren High School will host a free college financial aid presentation for Juniors and Parents on Tuesday at 6 pm in the High School Auditorium.
A representative from the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) will join the high school counseling office to discuss the financial aid process, review the FAFSA Application, and understand FAFSA Results. Other topics that will be talked about include the Federal Student Aid ID, college comparisons and costs, financial aid options, the scholarships process, and resources for help. Southeast Warren School Counselor Jodi Clendenen says that the brief presentation by ICAN® is beneficial in helping students and families get started in planning for education beyond high school.
“It’s less than an hour usually and it’s just a really great way to find out about things that can be very confusing. I think a lot of kids and parents just aren’t sure where to start or when to start and they do a great job of just walking through the process. If it’s something that you’re not interested in, then that’s fine, but if there are things that you are interested in and you can find helpful, then it’s a great jumping off point.”
