The Indianola School Board voted in new leadership for the new board, as Mack Rankin was elected as Board President and Ben Metzger voted as Vice President. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the first meeting after the election is always more organizational than anything, as not only do the board officers get elected, but they have procedural items to approve.

“We have to talk about who is going to be the banker, who is going to be the legal counsel for the district, who is going to be the official newspaper, things like that. So things pretty much stayed the same, except for the change in board president and vice president. But the board also picked who is part of the subcommittees, it’s not a quorum but it’s a smaller group, and they are in charge of talking about facilities, HR, policy, finance, those things and bring it to the full board for a decision.”
