The Pleasantville boys wrestling team opened their season Thursday night going 3-0 at a quadrangular hosted by Martensdale-St. Marys.

The Trojans defeated Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas 60-24, Martensdale-St. Marys 42-30, and Moravia 69-12. Aside from two forfeits, every match the Trojans won against the Warhawks was by pin. Pleasantville picked up five more pins against the Blue Devils in their closest match of the night and seven total pins against Moravia. Blake Rowson, Caleb Cook, Zane Mullenix, Kooper Hamilton, and Colton Miller all went undefeated at the quad. Pleasantville Coach Heath DeForest tells KNIA/KRLS sports that he loved his team’s effort and attitude in the matches and hopes it carries over to this weekend’s tournament. Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas finished 2-1 on the night beating Moravia 50-24, and picked up a close win against the Blue Devils 41-40.

The Trojans will next wrestle on Saturday at Nodaway Valley and the Warhawks will be back in action on Saturday as well at Woodward-Granger.
