The Central College basketball teams travel to Waverly today for an American Rivers Conference doubleheader with Wartburg.

The Dutch women, fresh off an 88-70 runaway win at Buena Vista University on Wednesday, will face off with a nationally ranked Knights squad. Wartburg is ranked #14 in the WBCA Division III poll and No. 8 by D3hoops.com. The Knights are 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the league after taking down nationally ranked Loras College 64-56 in a pivotal early season conference match-up at Dubuque on Wednesday.

The Central men are coming off an 83-76 victory at Buena Vista Wednesday, highlighted by center Joshua Van Gorp’s 19 point, 22 rebound performance. Wartburg has struggled in the early part of the season, falling to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play with a 100-89 loss against Loras on Wednesday.

Coverage of Central’s basketball games at Wartburg today can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 3:45 pm. Tip-off of the women’s game will follow at 4 pm, and the men’s game is scheduled to start around 6 pm.
