The Norwalk boys and girls bowling teams were both defeated by Ballard on Friday afternoon at the Perfect Games facility in Ames.
The Bomber boys topped the Warriors by 90 total pins, 2580 to 2490. Ballard’s Jaron Watson rolled the top two-game series of the dual with a 387. Tanner Housley led Norwalk with a 367.
The Ballard girls beat Norwalk 2047 to 1697, paced by Katie Toillefson’s 289 series. Ellery Racz bowled a 274 for the Warriors, who were competing without returning state qualifier Julia Palen, who is the lead in the school play. Norwalk coach Russell Greenwood commended his squad for competing well, maintaining a positive attitude and displaying good sportsmanship.
Both Norwalk teams are now 0-2 on the season and will be back in action today, hosting Creston at 9:00 a.m. inside the Air Lanes Bowling Center in Des Moines.
