The Knoxville School Board approved a bleacher and press box bid for the Randy Wilson Track improvement project at their meeting Monday night.

The board accepted a bid from Larson Construction in the amount of $776,789 for the home side bleachers and press box. The home bleachers are expected to sit approximately 1,400 people with the visitor bleachers that were previously approved to seat 500. Knoxville Community School District Business Manager Craig Mobley said this was the last major item to take care of relating to the improvement project.

“We will have some more smaller concrete work and fence work going on out there but the major items have now been taken care of and now it’s just a matter of time before we get the contractors out here to get the work done. We can work around some of the spring season and utilize the summer. Things are looking good to have that work completed sometime in August.”

The funds for the bleachers and press box come from the $2.5 Million to be used for the Randy Wilson Track Improvement Project.
