After the girls squads clashed on Thursday, the Pella Christian and PCM boys basketball teams will square off in Monroe Monday night.

The Eagles are off to a 2-0 start to the season, grabbing wins of 26 and 28 points over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Oskaloosa. Meanwhile, the Mustangs are 1-1 on the young season, after falling to Knoxville on Tuesday and beating Greene County on Friday. Dating back to 2007, Pella Christian holds an 18-6 advantage in the matchup, and have won the last five meetings. Playing three teams they’re very familiar with, Eagles head coach JD Boer says that he expects to be challenged yet again Monday night.

“Our first three games with Eddyville, Osky, and PCM, I keep telling the guys in our scouting report, you probably know these guys better than we do. And PCM is another example of that. I’m impressed by that team. They compete really hard. They got a few different guys who can really make some plays, so we’ll be challenged there again on Monday night. ”

Coverage of Monday night’s boys basketball game between Pella Christian and PCM can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with the Scooter’s Coffee Radio Pregame show at 7 pm.
