The Warren County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board discussed the process for the appointment of an interim Warren County Treasurer after the retirement of current Treasurer Julie Daughery, which is taking place at the end of the year. The board announced their intention to appoint the position, with applications open now and due by any interested party by December 15th. Board Chair Darren Heater said during the meeting they are choosing the path of appointment rather than a special election to reduce costs.
The individual appointed to the position will serve until the position is on the ballot in the fall of 2024.
The board also approved the vacation of a road located at Carter Street and 195th Avenue, tabled approval of Class C Retail Alcohol License for County Line Tap, ARPA funded projects, the sale of county-owned property known as vacated Washington Street in Churchville, fuel quotes, an application to use the Warren County Annex for Home for the Holidays event on Saturday, and permanent easements.
