The Central College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is holding a food drive at Central’s home basketball doubleheader against Coe College on Saturday. 

Members of the committee will be stationed at the entrance of P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium collecting non-perishable food items from fans to support the Pella Food Shelf. There is a particularly high need for canned fruit, canned meat, peanut butter and cereals. The SAAC is an NCAA mandated group that elicits student-athlete voices on current topics and legislation. The SAAC at Central has made it an initiative to connect student-athletes to each other and to broader campus activities, and to be involved in the community with events such as the food drive. 

Central’s basketball doubleheader on Saturday is slated to begin with the women’s game at 2 pm, with the men’s game to follow around 4 pm.
