Four Central College players were tabbed for the D3football.com All-Region 5 Team. Defensive lineman Hunter Olson and strong safety Cameron Bannister were second-team picks while offensive tackle Kade Tippet and kicker Logan Sunvold were named to the third team.
Olson was also a second-team American Rivers all-conference choice. He made 36 tackles in 10 games with 15 solos, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He was also credited with a pass breakup and three quarterback hurries. Bannister, a two-year team co-captain, is a three-time second-team all-conference honoree and was a third-team D3football.com all-region pick last year. He’s also a four-time academic all-conference honoree and was a CSC Academic All-District Team selection last year. He was Central’s second-leading tackler this year with 54 tackles, including 27 solos and a tackle for loss. Bannister also led the Dutch in interceptions with five and had four pass breakups. Earlier this season he was named to the AFCA Good Works Team and will be honored at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on January 1st. Tippet was a first-team all-conference selection and helped fuel an offense that averaged 442.3 yards and 42.8 points a game. Sunvold is a three-time first-team all-conference pick, leading the league with eight field goals in 13 attempts. He averaged 59.7 yards on 68 kickoffs with 17 touchbacks and converted 52 of 53 extra-point tries. He’s a three-time all-region pick, named to the second team in 2021 and the first team last year.
The Dutch posted a 7-3 overall record, and finished third in the conference at 6-2.
