The PCM boys wrestling team will host a pair of conference dual meets tonight.

Along with the Mustangs, the triangular will feature Heart of Iowa Conference opponents Perry and Saydel. PCM last competed on Monday at a quad hosted by Pella where the Mustangs finished 1-2 on the evening. The Mustangs defeated Sigourney-Keota 50-18 at the meet but ended up falling to Pella 54-21 and Pleasantville 45-36. Sophomore Tucker Wheeler had three pinfalls for the Mustangs at Pella. Wheeler was a state qualifier for the Mustangs last season and PCM wrestling coach Rusty Vos said he continues to work hard to get better.

“He started pretty early working. He played football but he also worked at wrestling 6-8 weeks before the season started with more technique, really aggressive, and relentless of never stopping. That’s what he’s doing and he’s getting really good at takedowns and being on his feet so that’s where we’re at.”

Tonight’s dual meet in Monroe starts at 6:00 pm.
