The Knoxville Basketball Squads will play their first South Central Conference games at home tonight as Davis County will be the opponent. The girls dominated Clarke and after starting slow out of the gates, the Panthers have scored 135 points while only allowing 65 in the last two games. The reason has been the Panthers defensive play that turns into points on the other end. Junior player Hannah Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the defensive emphasis is allowing the team to generate points with easy transition on the offensive end.

Dunkin: “Just really have to focus on practice, get a lot of shots up and focus on defense. If we can play defense and get shots to go into the hoop then we’re good to go.”

Dunkin got her first career double-double on Tuesday with 21 points and 12 rebounds while teammate Abbie Keitges also had a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists. Keitges leads the team in that department and is second in the South Central Conference. For the boys…they are looking to get back from a ten points loss to Clarke on Tuesday with a Davis County team that has struggled at the start of the season as the Mustangs are 0-3 and have lost their last two games by 36 and 29 points…respectively. Listen live to both games tonight on KRLS3 starting with the pregame at 6:15
