100+ Men Red Rock presented a check for just over $5,500 to Hospice of Pella Friday morning.
The donation will be used to support the Day of Care Program at Hospice of Pella. The program provides a way for families and friends to give their loved ones a day or days of routine care. The Day of Care Program serves patients who have stable, acute symptoms that require a level of care that is beyond what a loved one can provide. Bereavement Coordinator at Hospice of Pella Leah Garland says that program helps cover the room and board for a patient’s stay.
“Typically people assume that they won’t have to pay because they have insurance and unfortunately, many of those insurances like Medicare will not pay for the room and board. And so, we now have this fund called The Day of Care funds that will help offset those room and board charges for people when they come in.”
