The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads both took losses to Meskwaki Settlement on Saturday as the girls fell in overtime 52-48 and the boys lost 63-53. Girls Coach Kelsey Goff told KNIA Sports the team had a 15 point lead at the start of the 4th quarter but turned the ball over and did not manage the time well. Addi Wadle led with 14 points while Gabby Overgaard notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds as did Paetyn Anderson scoring ten points and grabbing 12 rebounds. The boys were plagued by poor shooting all game. Coach Matt Bennett told KNIA Sports the shots were there but just did not go down, and gave up too many offensive rebounds. Both Melcher-Dallas Squads will host the other Saints of the Bluegrass Conference, Mormon Trail at Southeast Warren on Tuesday.
