The Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball got back on the winning side of things over Mormon Trail 57-44…while the boys struggled after a competitive first quarter to fall 74-36. The Saint girls pulled away from the other Saints of the Bluegrass Conference late with free throws down the stretch. Addi Wadle scored 18 points while Gabby Overgaard had 12 points and Paetyn Anderson scored 11. The boys were down two starters before the game began due to illness and after a competitive 1st quarter, Mormon Trail took advantage of Melcher-Dallas’s inexperience and ran away the rest of the game. Coach Matt Bennett told KNIA Sports he saw a lot of good things including better effort from his team. The girls will take on Orient-Macksburg on Friday while the boys will take on arch-rival Twin Cedars.
