The Marion County Commission of Veterans Affairs recognized Alvin Van Zee Wednesday morning for 20 years of service.

Van Zee reached the milestone earlier this year on October 10th, as was honored for service to veterans across the state on behalf of the Iowa Association of County Commissioners and Veteran Service Officers. Marion County Veteran Affairs Commissioner Jodi Marti said it was an honor to recognize Van Zee’s service.

“Al is a known leader in the veterans community in Marion County and I’m honored to be here and recognize him for his service not only on the commission but even prior in his military service.”
