Merry-N County Christmas presented by THRIVE Knoxville and the Marion County Historical Society continues this weekend.

Merry-N County Christmas is a drive through lighted display held at Marion County Park located at 306 Willetts Drive in Knoxville. The event will be held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Sunday, December 24th. The hours of the drive through lighted display are 6:00-8:00 pm, and it is free will admission. There will also be a special mailbox at the event to mail a letter to Santa Claus. There will be approximately 80 displays this year to get citizens of Marion County into the holiday spirit. This event started during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic and Merry-N County Christmas Steering Committee Co-Chair Tyler Christian says Marion County Park provided a great opportunity for the light show.

“We knew Marion County Park and the Marion County campground had the electrical capacity with the campground to provide this type of display and even, but also the historic village that is leased from the park by the Marion County Historical Society is a really neat asset we have here in Marion County. Lighting that up for Christmas we felt would be a huge advantage and a really neat thing for viewers.”
