Applications to serve as Warren County Treasurer are due by Friday, December 15th.

Current Treasurer Julie Daugherty tells KNIA News she is retiring at the end of the year, and she thinks the office is in a good spot even with a new leader of the office coming in.

“I think we are in very good shape. One of the things I have been very diligent in is cross training and backup training, and making sure people know there is more than one person that knows how to do things. Especially in light of me leaving, it makes me think of what people need to know that maybe I’m the only one that does it and has for years. So I feel like I’m leaving the staff in a really good position, there’s nothing that they can’t do, and of course I’m a phone call away if I need to be.”

The individual appointed to the position will serve through 2024, with the position on the ballot in the fall of 2024 for a term beginning January 1st, 2025.

The board will hold public interviews with applicants at their regular meeting Tuesday, Dec. 19, before appointing an individual. Find more information below.
