The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad hopes to keep it rolling tonight and the boys and girls Panthers head to Centerville to conclude South Central Conference play in the pre-Christmas portion of the season. The Big Reds are off to a surprising 4-1 start and along with Knoxville are 3-1 knotted in 2nd place in the conference. Boys Assistant Coach Joel Keady tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Centerville is a better team than the last two seasons and he hopes that the tempo can be sped up.

Keady: “Try to speed up the tempo a little and we have a lot of guys who can play and play hard. Coach Bay has done a good job there and they’ll be on their home court and ready to play.”

The girls are in need of a shot of momentum after losing to Chariton and only scoring four points in the 4th quarter. The Centerville girls are having what Coach Matt Ritchhart says a bit of a reset after losing two talented players from last season’s squad. Live coverage can be heard on kniakrls.com KRLS2 with the pregame at 5:45 and the girls game to tip at 6:00.
