The Pleasantville girls and boys basketball teams will travel to Des Moines Christian tonight for a West Central Conference varsity doubleheader. 

The Trojan girls are coming off a commanding 53-21 win over Ogden Tuesday to move to 4-3 on the season and 2-2 in the conference. Pleasantville continues to see impressive production from junior Joelle Johnson, who is leading Class 2A in points with 181. The #3 ranked Lion girls are 7-1 and are led in scoring by Abby Hall, who is averaging 13 points per game. 

The Trojan boys are 1-4 on the season and are coming off a 60-49 loss to Ogden on Tuesday. The Trojan offense has leaned heavily on freshman Braylon Bingham, who is averaging 21.8 points per game so far this year. The Lion boys are 5-1 and led in scoring by Jameson Scharnberg, who is averaging 14 points per game.

Tonight’s varsity doubleheader in Des Moines starts with the girls game at 6:15 pm with the boys game to follow.
