The Warren County Board of Supervisors will appoint a new County Treasurer this month, after the retirement of current treasurer Julie Daugherty at the end of the year.

Daugherty tells KNIA News she feels the office is in a good place right now, and she hopes it will continue the path it is on with the new person in charge.

“My hope is that it continues to run efficiently and they are able to keep up on the work. Continue the very best customer service that has been very important to me over the years. The County Treasurer’s Office is not a place where people love to come by any means, and it isn’t like a bank where if they don’t like the service here they can go to a different bank. They have to come here, and for that reason it’s even more important to not forget that customer service is the best thing we can offer to people.”

The individual appointed to the position will serve through 2024, with the position on the ballot in the fall of 2024 for a term beginning January 1st, 2025.

The board will hold public interviews with applicants at their regular meeting Tuesday, Dec. 19, before appointing an individual. Find more information below.
