The Indianola boys wrestling team has advanced to the championship round of the Battle of Waterloo after going 3-0 in the bracket stage Friday, while the Norwalk Warriors went 1-1.
The #6 Indians defeated Clear Lake in the opening round 63-16, then sent down Ankeny in the bracket semifinals 46-19. Advancing to the finals vs Cedar Rapids Prairie, the Indians dominated winning 51-21, earning wins by fall from Dax Clatt at 175lbs, Isaiah Kellow at 190lbs, Carson Slorah at 215lbs, Jaxson Boyd at heavyweight, Rylan Hilton at 126lbs, and Ryan Young at 132lbs. They advance to the championship bracket finals, along with Bettendorf, Linn Mar, and Osage.
The Norwalk Warriors defeated WDM Valley in the first round, scraping by with a 33-30 victory, but then fell to #2 in class 3A Bettendorf 54-20, then fell in the bracket third place match to Lake Mills 34-33. The Warriors will wrestle in the fourth place bracket finals today.
