Forward Grace Coates joined the short list of Central College women’s soccer players to garner United Soccer Coaches Division III Scholar All-North/Central Region honors as she was named to the second team Thursday.

Coates is the fifth Central player to be recognized and the first since 2018. The other four were all third team selections. In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must have a 3.40 or better cumulative grade point average, play in at least 75 percent of all games and be an elite player as supported by playing honors. Coates is majoring in kinesiology and holds a 3.68 GPA. She led the Dutch with 15 goals scored and added six assists. The junior was also a second team choice for the United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV team and was a first team choice to the American Rivers All-Conference team for the second year in a row.

The Dutch finished 9-5-4 overall, and 4-3-1 in the American Rivers Conference.
