The Knoxville High School Music Department will hold their winter concerts tonight.
The concerts will start at 7:00 pm and be held at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center, and this is the only concert of the year that features both the choirs and bands in the same evening. The evening will start with the jazz band, followed by the concert band and concert choir, and the evening will close with the chamber choir performing “O Holy Night” with recent alumni joining the current students. Knoxville High School Choir Director Ian Heetland encourages the community to come out to listen to the talented high school students.
“I just encourage community members and parents to give it a try. It might not be something they’re used to. Maybe they’re used to going to sporting events or maybe some other academic opportunities for their students. Maybe they’re thinking what do the arts sound like. You will not be disappointed and you will walk out of that auditorium with a smile on your face and a sense of relaxation and think that this was a good way to spend a Monday night.”
