The Warren County Board of Supervisors appointed Andrea Semple as Interim Warren County Treasurer at their meeting Tuesday, replacing retiring treasurer Julie Daugherty. The Supervisors received applications from two individuals for the post after announcing their intention to appoint rather than hold a special election, and Semple came with the recommendation from Daugherty in the search process, as she previously served as Deputy Treasurer.

Semple tells KNIA News she has been working with Daugherty to learn the ins and outs of serving as Treasurer, and there has been a good amount of training to keep the office moving efficiently during the transition.

“We’ve trained quite a bit, writing different procedures on everything she does. Everything doesn’t happen often during the year, a lot of things she does once a year, so we’ve worked together to create a list of what I did not know and enhance what I do know. I’ve attended a lot of workshops with her through ISAC and for Treasurers to gain knowledge and to build a rapport with other County Treasurers to be able to lean on if I need to.”
