The Pella High School Robotics team finished 3-3 and in 7th place during Saturday’s 22-team Des Moines Metro league tournament.

The Bionic Dutch fell behind early in the day when partnered with lower ranked robotics teams. But as the meet continued, the Dutch were able to draw higher rated alliance partnerships and the results changed.

Going into the 5th match, the Dutch had scored all 99 of the team’s points before a competitive robot inadvertently ran into the Pella High robot taking off a drivetrain wheel and ending the match for the team.

After a quick repair in the pit area, the Dutch were able to pick up a final win of the day with their alliance partner from Norwalk with a score of 167-166.

The Bionic Dutch have a few weeks off to prepare for their last regular season tournament which will be held on January 13, 2024.
