The Simpson women’s basketball team defeated Methodist 78-56 in the opening round of the Cruzin Classic Tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Tuesday. The Storm trailed at the end of the first quarter 13-11, but rallied in the second quarter to lead at halftime 35-27. The Storm continued to shoot well from outside throughout the second half, making 12 three-point buckets in the game and expanding the lead, eventually winning the game. Molly Lutmer led the team with 18 points, while Haley Rasmussen scored 17 and Maddux DeVault scored 16. The Storm next play tomorrow against Gustavus Adolphus.
