The Knoxville Fire Department responded to a hazardous spill Wednesday night.
At 9:39 pm Wednesday, the Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported hazardous spill with at least one person injured. Department responded with one engine company, one squad company, one ambulance, and two command cars with eight personnel. While en route, dispatch advised that 3M’s Emergency Response Team was in the process of deconning the patient hat had come in contact with the product. When units arrived on scene, the fire department was met by 3M’s Emergency Response Team and were updated on the situation. A containment area was established to keep the product in the spilled area. One person was treated and transported to Knoxville Hospital for evaluation. 3M’s Emergency Response Team and Knoxville Firefighters contained the spill and mitigated the hazards.
