The Iowa High School Athletic Association released their boys basketball rankings on Friday, and Pella Christian came in at #8 in the first edition of the poll this season.

The Eagles are fresh off a 69-48 Little Hawkeye Conference victory over Newton Thursday night. That result came on the heels of Pella Christian’s 86-48 blowout win over Wilton last Saturday. Among the teams in the conference, the Eagles were the lone team tabbed in the rankings. Through their first seven games, Pella Christian leads the Little Hawkeye in steals per game with 10.1, field goal percentage at 47.7% and three point percentage at 40.4%.

The Eagles enter the holiday break with 5-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the conference, and they will return to the court against cross-town rival Pella on Friday, January 5th.
