One of the bright spots for the Melcher-Dallas Boys Basketball Squad this season is the play of Drew Heaberlin. Heaberlin is averaging 11.6 points per game and has added a part to his game that he did not have last season. Coach Matt Bennett tells KNIA/KRLS Sports once the opposing teams are cracking down on Gavin Thordarson Heaberlin has stepped up to fill the void.
Bennett: “From the first five games to the last five, Drew has really excelled. I think most teams have keyed on Gavin and Reece and Drew has stepped up and it’ll be interesting to see in the next half of the season how that plays out.”
Bennett adds Trevor Hoch has stood out and once the season restarts, he would like to see Hoch be more aggressive on the offensive end. Melcher-Dallas will restart its season on January 2nd against Murray.
