Just in the first week in her new home this past summer, a former Newton basketball player nearly saw her career on the floor end with a freak injury. Instead, Sophia Reynolds has debuted well ahead of expectations following knee surgery, and as she progresses further on the floor and in recovery, the senior may be the key to pushing the Dutch into a deep postseason run.

Reynolds has averaged eight points per game since returning against her former team on December 15th, including a 16 point performance against Knoxville. Reynolds is hoping to compliment what was already a strong returning cast on the now-#14 in 4A Dutch.

Sophia was a second-team All-Little Hawkeye Conference selection for Newton in 2022-23. Pella has won six games in a row and returns after break to host Pella Christian on Friday, January 5th.
