Despite a slow start to the year, the City of Indianola has seen an uptick as of late for commercial and residential construction permit applications. City of Indianola Community aned Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News for the majority of the year, single family and commercial numbers were down in addition to overall valuation down from last year, with the state of the economy often given as feedback as to why projects were on hold. However over the last several months, Dissell said numbers have really grown.
“It seems over the last several months, we have seen a lot of those numbers starting to come up. We are seeing single family numbers surpass what we saw last year, last year was a little bit of a down year but we are still going to surpass that. If you had asked me in September I would have told you we were going to be a little bit below last year. And total valuation is also going to surpass last year, we have had some big projects over the last several months submitted.”
