With the Indianola boys basketball team losing a massive senior class from last year and only bringing back one player with varsity experience, head coach Jeff Ebling said there have been growing pains for the team early on in the season.
Ebling tells KNIA Sports early in the season they have been tested by a tough schedule, but he is looking for the team to adjust to the highest level of state basketball after most of the players played JV or middle school basketball previously.
“Just them getting used to the speed and physicality, especially in class 4A basketball, it’s just different. You are going to have learning experiences, it’s whether or not you can take those learning chances and apply them in the future and prepare yourself long-term.”
The Indians continue their season in 2024 hosting Dallas Center Grimes on January 5th.
