The Knoxville Police Department is concluding a successful 2023 and looking ahead to 2024.

According to Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller, 2023 was a relatively slow year for his department, which is something Fuller considers to be a positive. Statistics given by Chief Fuller indicate that calls for service in 2023 will be almost the same compared with 2022, citations are up by 150, warnings are up, OWI arrests are up, and narcotic arrests are up by about 25% for 2023. Fuller states that these numbers are not up because his department is seeking to get people in trouble, but because he wants his department to continue keeping the citizens of Knoxville safe. Fuller says he is happy to be able to work in a community that supports his department.

“It’s no secret that Knoxville is growing. Knoxville is getting bigger. We have more jobs in town. We’re building houses. We’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time and we’re just happy to police in a community that supports us.”
