The Marion County Board of Supervisors approved a request from the City of Knoxville for Local Option Sales and Service Tax (LOSST) distribution in a split vote at their meeting Tuesday.
Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery requested a five year agreement for the City of Knoxville to receive 4% of LOSST funds, which is a continuation of the current agreement that expires on December 31st. Kisha Jahner and Steve McCombs voted yes on this agreement while Mark Raymie voted no, stating that he was looking for a shorter term agreement. Also at the meeting was approval of amending Marion County Ordinance Chapter 55 – Zoning Regulations and Chapter 56 – Subdivisions, and approval of appointments to the Marion County Board of Health and the Central Housing Trust Fund.
