While Pella Historical Museums are closing for the season after this weekend, their hibernation is far from a break.

Executive Director Jessi Galligan says the Windmill Winterim Program returns in January and February, with a wide range of programs and classes for members and the public to participate in. Registration is open for everyone here.

The Pella Historical Village and Scholte House will close until the first week of spring in March.

Hindeloopen is a beautiful Dutch folk art from a city of the same name in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. Join Hindeloopen artist Darlene Wallinga as she teaches you the basics of this painting style, from swoops and scrolls to birds and flowers. No previous painting experience is required, and we invite folks of all ages who can use a paintbrush. After three classes, you’ll walk away with knowledge and skills, your own set of paints and brushes, and a wooden Dutch “kalendar” to show off what you’ve learned.
