Former Knoxville Girls basketball Great Katie Keitges is currently in her senior year at the University of Omaha. The Mavericks are currently 4-7 on the season most recently losing to then #25 Texas Christian. Of their seven losses, three have been by six points or less. Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she feels the team is good enough to challenge in most games, but they need to get over having a bad quarter.

Keitges: “It’s frustrating because you want to win those, but we’re just right there and we’re within a few points, but that one quarter is killing us, but we’re almost there.”

Keitges has started in every game for the Mavericks this season with a season high in points of 18 against Northwestern on November 12th. Omaha has a break until Friday when the Mavericks travel to the University of Denver to start Summit League play.
