Work on the downtown Indianola square alleys have continued over this summer and are planned to be completed by next summer. City of Indianola Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the majority of the project is now complete, and business owners have liked the changes to the square even though they have had to go through a lot of transition and disruption due to the construction.
“We aren’t finished with the project yet, so there is still some heartburn from the business owners as they are being disrupted with utility work and things like that that the public doesn’t necessarily see. We’ve had some of the parking lots down which has created some issues on the square, but as we are getting over that now and getting some of these projects done I think everybody is going to see the positive.”
