Local unemployment rates decreased in the month of November, according to the latest update from the Iowa Workforce Development. The unemployment rate in Marion County dropped from 2.6% in October to 2.3% last month. There are 19,250 residents employed and 450 seeking work and receiving benefits. The rate also went down in Warren County, going from 3.0% in October to 2.7% in November. There are 28,600 residents employed and 800 people seeking work and receiving benefits. Statewide, the unemployment rate in Iowa dropped from 3.2% in October to 2.9% in November, but that number is up from 2.6% at this time last year.
