The Marion County Conservation Department will be collecting discarded Christmas trees in Knoxville on Tuesday, January 2nd.

The Conservation Department requests that trees be placed next to the street curb before 8:00 a.m. on January 2nd. Trees should be free of all decorations, tree stands, metal fasteners, tinsel and should not be in plastic bags. Pickup routes will only be driven once. There will also be a Christmas tree drop-off site located at Marion County Park near the entrance between now and January 15th.

All trees will be used for wildlife cover and fisheries habitat in Conservation areas.
