When Pella Christian High School students return from Christmas break next week, they will start the second semester outside of the traditional classroom experience.
Pella Christian’s 12th annual Winterim will start on Wednesday and will be held through Wednesday, January 10th. As part of the experience, students participate in unique classes, out of state trips, and internships at several local businesses. Greg Beekhuizen with the Winterim Committee says that the program allows students to discover career paths that may interest them, and thanks organizations that help provide those opportunities for students.
“We’ve found that so many of our students, they either find something they love, or they find something that now they know they don’t necessarily want to do and either way that’s a success. They’re figuring out what they’re interested in and what might be important to them. So, we appreciate all the community help with that and we wouldn’t be able to do it without the community.”
The six-day experience will take place before the semester officially resumes on January 11th. Find the full interview previewing the 12th annual Winterim at Pella Christian High School here.
