The Simpson College men’s basketball team used an offensive barrage to dispose of Lake Forest in the team’s final game of 2023, winning 106-74 against Lake Forest on the final day of the Loras Holiday Classic. Andrew Gibb rebounded from his lowest-scoring output of the season to pour in a game-high 27 points on 12-for-14 shooting from the field. The Storm (6-7, 0-4 A-R-C) shot a blistering 75.9 percent from the field in the second half and 66.7 percent overall
Cassie Nash produced a game-high 15 points and five assists to lead the Simpson College women’s basketball team in a wire-to-wire victory over Bethany Lutheran on Friday afternoon.
The Storm (6-6) led 47-35 at halftime and doubled their lead to 24 with a 14-2 run to start the second half. Simpson built its advantage to as many as 27 in the fourth quarter, ultimately winning 90-68.
