A near two week break ends tonight for the Knoxville Basketball Squads and both have very important South Central Conference games at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Both boys and girls Panthers, with a win can forge a three-way tie for 1st place on both sides with wins tonight. The girls will have to deal with a class 2A #7 Rockets team that has for the most part ran over their competition with one exception and will make things difficult with the Shafer Twins and other contributors. Coach Matt Rithhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports EBF was the favorite going into the season and so far the Rockets are proving everyone right.
Ritchhart: “They’re the favorite and they’re big and physical with the Shafer girls and Wagamon on the outside. We’ll have a gameplan and see how it goes.”
The boys also will have a difficult task in trying to stop all-conference player Brooks Moore from Eddyville, who in his last game scored 33 points in the win over Oskaloosa back on December 16th. Knoxville will counter with its own scoring punch in the Norris Brothers as Landen averages 20 points per game and Lincoln, who averages 16 points per game. The Rockets also posses height that Knoxville will have to figure out how to stop inside. Live coverage is on 95.3 KNIA starting at 6:00
