The Knoxville Fire Department is participating in a house numbers fundraiser to help in case of an emergency.
The fire department has partnered with the company Reflective Edge to offer a house number service to the citizens of Knoxville to help save the Fire Department time when responding to those in need. As a fundraiser for the fire department, those who order a house number through Ask Your First Responder, the Knoxville Fire Department will receive 40% of the sales to assist firefighters with training and equipment. Anyone can receive house numbers for either their building, mailbox, or curb. Not only does this help the fire department identify a location easier in case of an emergency, it also is a way to financially support the department as well. Knoxville Fire Chief Cal Wyman said this is a way for the community to help the fire department so they can help them.
“We just keep trying to move things forward and make things better for the community to help the first responders. By partaking in this fundraiser it is just a good way for the community to help us so we can help them when they need us because we will be able to find their house quicker and more efficiently.”
