Leighton State bank presented a check for $1,000 to the Knoxville Community Foundation on Thursday.
The Knoxville Community Foundation, which started as the Knoxville Heritage Foundation, supports Knoxville’s non-profit organizations and they work to build a bright tomorrow for the community. They have supported projects such as the Sprint Car Hall of Fame, The Grand Theater, performing arts center, library expansion and more. The foundation tries to enhance the community by raising funds to be invested in the future of Knoxville. Knoxville Community Foundation President Dylan Morse says it’s crucial to be able to receive donations like this.
“People all the time say jeez what if we had this? Or I wish we had that or things like that. It doesn’t happen without local people at all levels. Businesses, individuals, city government, non-profit organizations, churches, everyone banding together and doing all that they can.”
