Marion County Bank’s halftime entertainment at the Pella Christian vs. Pella basketball game Friday night earned the schools a $4,250 donation.
Students from both schools worked together in the event by shooting layups, free throws, three pointers and half court shots to earn a donation from Marion County Bank. All-Conference soccer player Austin Bone of Pella earned $1,000 for the schools by making a half-court basket during the event.
Since 2004, over $140,000 has been given to Pella Community High and Pella Christian High from Marion County Bank during the halftime events.
Prior to the games, Dollars for Scholars hosted the first of two pork suppers to raise funds for financial aid to support graduating Pella, Pella Christian, and homeschool students. Both events will return on Eagle Lane when the teams play again on Friday, February 2nd.
